Wounded

Friday, August 22nd, 2008 | Author:

No, not my thumb now, but I’m wounded on three fingers and a palm after yesterday. After getting stuck several times by DT-6 hooks, I finally started using my grabber to hold them while removing the hooks. The picture was after two days of fishing where I caught 20 that weighed 107 pounds (two years ago). Caught them on a Ribbit topwater frog, so I could stick my thumb in their mouths “safely”. Those two days were one of the highwater marks of my fishing career.

Coopers was cutoff from the River this AM and no water moving like last Sun. afternoon’s cord wood session. Could only fish an hour and half before getting back for grandson Cooper’s coming in. Managed 7, 5 on Rapala Husky at Daylight 2 on Strike King Spinnerbait. All nice fish, 2 1/2 to 4 lbs. Looks like a good many fish are trapped there when the water dropped out. Threw the DT-6 Shad color for 30 minutes in the area where I caught the fish early and could not buy a strike. Should be good this fall.
